Project
Costs of Pollution in Canada
Client
International Institute for Sustainable Development
Objective
Despite widespread knowledge about the health and environmental consequences of high pollution levels in Canada, Canadians are not fully educated on the topic due to a lack of studies on certain pollutants and the lack of a comprehensive report discussing the costs of pollution in Canada. This report reviewed and compiled information from existing reports on pollution in Canada with the goal of creating a report that comprehensively provides data on the costs of all pollutants to Canadians. With the creation of this report, Canadians, policy-makers and industry leaders can be better equipped to understand pollution data comprehensively and make decisions based on a more complete set of data and information.
Our Role
Our Principal and IISD Senior Associate, Rob Smith, was lead author on this report.
