Project
Aquatic Ecosystem Indicators for the Mackenzie River Basin
Client
Government of the Northwest Territories
Objective
This report, presented by the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) in response to a request from the Government of Northwest Territories, assisted the Mackenzie River Basin Board (MRBB) in identifying indicators for aquatic ecosystem health for use in the 2017 State of the Aquatic Ecosystem Report (SOAER). This project by IISD was created with the goal to build upon previous efforts to consolidate indicators for the MRBB in order to identify a final set of indicators that were "limited in number, pragmatic, cost effective and feasible". The report also outlined, in addition to the core indicators, a set of additional indicators for potential implementation into future versions of the SOAER.
Our Role
Our Principal and IISD Senior Associate, Rob Smith, was lead author on this report.
