Project
Conference of European Statisticians Recommendations on Climate Change-Related Statistics
Client
United Nations Economic Commission for Europe
Objective
The Task Force on Climate Change-Related Statistics was developed at the request of the heads of national statistical offices within the UNECE and other countries that participated in the Conference of European Statisticians. Meetings organized by the Task Force looked at existing national statistical systems and identified recommendations based on existing practices and the needs of those using the systems. The Task Force also created recommendations based on interviews and research conducted using the results of a survey about how the existing national statistical offices have been involved in climate change-related statistics. The report presented the recommendations compiled by the Task Force on improving the use of climate change-related statistics by national statistical services and aimed to have these recommendations enhance the compilation of greenhouse gas inventories within these statistical systems.
Our Role
Our principal, Rob Smith, was Chair of the Task Force on Climate Change-Related Statistics created to develop the recommendations on improving climate change-related statistics outlined in this publication.
