Objective
Our Living Waters (OLW) is an organization that is striving to achieve clean and healthy water across Canada. Midsummer Analytics Principal, Rob Smith, published a collection of four reports for Our Living Waters to aid in their goal of "all waters in Canada in good health by 2030". The main objective of each respective report are outlined below:
- Monitoring Water Bodies with Harmful Algal Blooms: A Canadian Landscape Scan - this report provided information about hazardous and nuisance algal blooms in each province and territory in Canada to inform the establishment of a statistically valid estimate of the number of bodies of water that are effected across the country
- Decision-makers' access to water-related data - this report presented the findings and discussion of a survey that was taken by 152 decision makers on the work they do on water resource management
- Government spending on environmental protection - this report focused on how to measure government spending on the protection of biodiversity and landscapes
- Open Access Water Data Hubs Across Canada - this report looked at the availability of open access hubs on water quality across Canada
