Client
Sustainable Energy Division UNECE
Objective
In order to assist countries with economies in transition in the preparation of national action plans to achieve the sustainable development goals related to energy, the UNECE executed a United Nations Development Account (UNDA) project Sustainable Energy for All in Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia (SE4All-EECCA). The SE4All initiative had three broad objectives:
- ensuring universal access to modern energy services
- doubling the global rate of improvement in energy efficiency
- doubling the share of renewable energy in the global energy mix by 2030
Our report covers the material presented by Robert Smith in two workshops where the goal was to increase the knowledge of national experts from Kazakhstan and Georgia on best practices for the collection and monitoring of national data on sustainable energy in compliance with international standards and the UN Fundamental Principles of Official Statistics.
Our Role
Our principal, Robert Smith, was a presenter at the workshops held in Astana, Kazakhstan and Tbilisi, Georgia. Our report provided the agendas for the two workshops and gave an outline of the presentations given by Mr. Smith. Participants expressed a high degree of satisfaction with the workshops.
